Request A QuoteDescription:
A G-Drill also known as a “Box Drill” is a drill containing two flutes with a cylindrical margin on both the front side and the back side of the flute. This is also known as a double margin. It is used to drill into solid material to create a hole or cavity.
Applications:
G-Drills provide better hole size, concentricity, and surface finish due to the flute construction and double margin design. The double margin design makes the tool strong and acts like a bushing support as the drill penetrates the material and drills deeper. In addition the double margin adds a burnishing affect that gives you better concentricity than a standard two flute drill. Having a thicker web and flutes that are ahead of centerline allow heavy feed rates.
Limitations:
G-Drills are manufactured with straight flutes and only out of solid carbide.
